In Years 1 and 2 we aim to realise the potential of each child, tailoring the learning experience carefully to individual needs and ensuring that our children remain happy, confident and independent learners, considerate of others.  We continue to encourage the children’s natural enthusiasm and curiosity, so effectively nurtured at the Foundation Stage, whilst gradually introducing curricular elements that will prepare them for a smooth transition to the Prep School. A sound grounding in literacy and mathematics skills equips the children to explore all areas of a curriculum which also encompasses science, humanities and ICT , as well as specialist teaching in French, music, riding, swimming and gymnastics.
The Orchard’s beautiful and tranquil setting gives us unrivalled opportunities to use the outdoor environment extensively for exploration and as a natural extension to the classroom.
